The team trains at WTL International, Tunstall Road, Bosley on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm and competes at competitions on most sundays.

If you are a beginner wishing to give tug of war a go, below is a list of kit you will need for training:

  • Kit (tough-material top (e.g. cotton rugby shirt), track-suit bottoms & socks)
  • Back support belt – e.g. a weight-lifting belt or neoprene back support
  • Boots – e.g. lace up boots. Need high sides (over the ankle). No studs.
  • Drinking water/sports drink

We have both outdoor training facilities, as well as under cover facilities so we can train in any weather conditions.

The only other things you need are a positive attitude to training, be willing to work as part of a team, be willing to learn, and be willing to endure a bit of hard work!

We do not charge money to attend training sessions, so this is a great and fun way to get fit and strong!
